Become a member
Membership is open to individuals aged 18 and above who support the mission, vision, objectives and bylaws of Shagar Community Association, regardless of nationality, ethnicity, religion or background.
What members get
- Attend and vote at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), as a registered member in good standing with your fee paid
- Nominate yourself or stand for election to the Board of Directors, under our bylaws and election procedures
Yearly fee
- IndividualPer person, aged 18 and over$120 CAD a year
Membership runs from January 1 to December 31 and must be renewed every year.
A membership fee is not a donation, so it does not come with a tax receipt.

Apply first. Once we receive your application, we'll email you how to pay your fee.
Volunteer with us
Volunteers help run our events, support newcomers and keep our programs going. Tell us what you're interested in and we'll be in touch.
- No fixed minimum time commitment: volunteer around your availability and our program schedules
- Orientation is provided, with guidance and training for the duties you take on

We work with employers, schools, colleges, training providers, health and social services, government agencies, foundations and community organizations to create lasting opportunities for our community.
